WVUA-TV & The Center for Public Television present the story of the April 27th tornado through the eyes of storm survivors in our community. This documentary includes never before seen surveillance footage and compelling local stories of loss, faith and hope in Tuscaloosa. Faces of the Storm was made possible by our generous sponsors DCH Health Systems and Nucor, and celebrates the resilient spirit of everyday citizens who became heroes. Copies of Faces of the Storm may be purchased by clicking on the link below. Net proceeds from the sale of the dvd’s will benefit The Tuscaloosa Disaster Relief Fund.
My husband and I watched Faces of the Storm tonight with our 2 children who attend UA. I didn’t expect it to be much because we’ve seen others that were sort of diluted. This one is the one we Alabamians have been looking for. Words can’t describe what we got from this film. We were totally silent the whole hour with some tears falling down the cheeks. My daughter just graduated from Nursing there and could relate to DCH. She even worked with one of the ER nurses who spoke on the film. This video is phenomenal and really makes a person understand what the victims experienced. I commend all those who participated in developing this video. I know that many who view this will reevaluate their lives and their relationships.
What a wonderful job you guys did on the documentary Faces of the Storm…… my husband and I both cried….. thank you sooo much!!! Our community has pulled together unbelieveably. My Mom,sister, nephew, neice and brother and sister in law were in the path off Crescent Rdg.Rd… lived one block over from Keene Drive where there were at least 5 killed. I had made my way down Crescent Rdg hadto walk mile or so to get to her house. We rode to DCH in the Rescue truck,so I didn’t see any of the other devastation in Alberta. My brother lived in the center of Alberta. I was with my Mom in the hospital for the next 2 days. It was a comfort to us to see her name in the Memorials at the end….. I am just amazed at all the “good” things that have come from this disaster…… thank you again from the Kemp family for presenting this. The children were awesome….. and my heart goes out to them!! I have worked in the ED for 28 yrs and in Trauma Service for 11yrs. I work with Sharon Oakly,Sharon allen and Andrew Lee. My husband is a retired fireman with the City and worked with those guys…
I will be purchasing many copies of your DVD for family members. Thank you again and again!!

I was flipping through the channels last night and came to the show. I stopped to watch and am glad I did. To my suprise, my cousin’s son, Preston Grammer, was a part of the program. I was so touched to hear him speak about all that he experienced during the April 27th tornado and its aftermath. The program gave a true perspective on all that happened that day from the people who really lived it. It was an excellent program and, as I said, I am glad that I took the time to watch it.
