Help for Pets:

Dr. Canant – - 1100 Rice Valley Road North, Tuscaloosa- treating injured animals for free.

Donations for pets: T-Town PAWS, Metro and the Humane Society need pet supplies which can be dropped off at any of their locations or United Way of West Alabama.

Help for Families:

Similac Feeding America- will donate to families in need of formula and ship directly to them.

Salvation Army - .   Help for basic needs for families.

We are here to assist individuals and families that are in need.   We are all devastated by this terrible tragedy but we intend to continue working with others in the community to assist those who have suffered losses.  We are providing clothes, food, diapers, baby items and many other necessities.  We are open to assist families and individuals from 10 am – 5 pm Monday through Saturday and 1 pm – 5 pm on Sunday. Please be advised that our Northport location is for donation drop-off only. Indivduals seeking assistance should visit our 15th Street location.

Senior Assistance: Senior citizens impacted by the tornado should call the Area Agency on Aging at for assistance.

American Diabetes Association: Disaster victims with diabetes can call   or .  They will have command centers in Tuscaloosa where supplies can be disbursed to patients.

Family Counseling Service: Offering free counseling services to those affected by the tornado.  .

Housing: ClassiTIDES.com is publishing daily lists of low cost housing, and they will provide updated books at retail establishments and to United Way of West Alabama each Thursday.  Also, visit affordablehousingonline.com for a list of housing available in your area.

Free Computer Usage: If you have a child in a Tuscaloosa County School, you can go to your child’s school between now and the end of the school year during normal school hours to use the computer lab for checking email, paying online bills, connecting with friends and loved ones on Facebook, etc.

Transportation Assistance: Compassionate Coalition and several faith based congregations are helping with local transportation Monday through Saturday mornings from 8:30 a.m. until noon for storm victims from Rosedale, Alberta, and Holt areas. Call at least 24 hours in advance Monday through Saturdays from 8:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.

If you are removing debris, please take a look at these guidelines.

Volunteer Reception Center: Residential property owners seeking debris removal service by volunteers may call the VRC at . Please leave a message with the property address, the owner’s name and phone number, and a brief description of the service requested.

Southern Baptist Disaster Relief: offering free chainsaws, debris removal, shower units, and chaplain help with trained Southern Baptist teams available.  Call if you need assistance.  They are associated withFEMA and mandated by Homeland Security background checks.

    I live in Virginia but I am planning a fundraiser for ALABAMA here in Newport News VA. I plan on the event to take place around June 4th and I will be bringing the supplies that we get along with people to help out with the clean up. Thank you
